Elliot Isaacs studied physiology at the University of Leeds alongside pharmacology and biochemistry. After developing an anti-redness product for his sister, Elliot was inspired to create the world-renowned Medik8 cosmeceutical brand. He then built it up from a tiny lab in the back of his Dad’s pharmacy.
The Founder
Medik8 was born out of a passion to strive for better skin health and results. Elliot arrived in the skincare industry at a time when natural skincare brands began challenging the traditional skincare market. A product of his time, a scientist having spent 5 years backpacking around the world, he also shared the natural movement's values of fair trade, sustainability and natural ingredients but his idea, unique at the time, was to combine this ethical backdrop with his experience in biochemistry to create results-driven products with proven science. His mission is to demystify anti-ageing skincare with his philosophy of ‘vitamin C plus sunscreen by day, and vitamin A by night’. There is, he believes, no reason to choose between results and experience.
A long-time member of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists, he is named on multiple patents for his contribution to work on retinoids, growth factors, brightening agents and novel antioxidants. Elliot has more than 15 years experience developing professional-grade skincare products. Today, he is still heavily involved in product development, particularly the CSA platform, and his strong values still run through everything Medik8 does which has resulted in a world renowned skincare brand which challenges the norm.

While working in his Dad’s pharmacy, Elliot Isaacs formulates Calmwise™ Serum (previously Red Alert Serum) for his sister, sparking the idea of the Medik8 professional brand.

Firewall™
After years of original research Medik8’s revolutionary mineral antioxidant serum, Firewall®, was brought to the market.
2009
UK Launch
Medik8 launches in the UK with a full professional product line up with a mission to demystify anti-ageing skincare. The unique philosophy ‘vitamin C plus sunscreen by day, vitamin A by night’ is born.
